What Passout is
Pass-Out is an event for passionate passers. Most activities will revolve around all forms of club passing, from 4-handed siteswaps to takeout patterns, with some ball and ring passing maybe mixed in — solo juggling is rare. The week will focus on learning, teaching, and inventing new patterns, building community together by cooking for the group, playing board games and doing puzzles, playing volleyclub, and possibly taking an outing together. There are usually many workshops throughout the week.
This is a community event at changing venues. We tend to sleep on site, cook together, teach workshops, pitch in for cleaning, play volleyclub, puzzle or play games, or go on an outing.
Is Passout for me?
Never been to Pass-Out before and wondering if you’re “good enough” to come? Ask yourself, would you enjoy doing nothing but passing for a whole week, and do you love learning new patterns? If yes, then you should come.
In terms of skills, being able to comfortably pass 6-club three-count and 7-club two-count is a good basis that will allow you to participate in many activites.
Passout is technically invite-only. We are happy to invite you if you talk to us at a festival. Being invite-only isn’t intended to be exclusive, but to make sure that attendees come with the right expectations: There will be a lot of passing, much of it experimental and far beyond four-count, so expect to participate in many patterns and workshops beyond the familiar. Also passout works because everyone takes part — in the passing, the cooking, the cleaning, and the hanging out. A week of immersive passing, communal meals, shared chores, and close quarters is wonderful, but it’s a specific kind of trip.
Registration is typically around $50-75 per day, including accommodation and food. We offer a scholarship program, offering reduced or free registration, paid for by supporter tickets and past surplus.
When and where is the next Passout?
Events are announced over the passout mailing list (and for the North American passout also our Discord server). Ask other passout members about how to join.
